To Bruce and Jackie’s husband and wife culinary team where you can experience world class, competition winning, extraordinary cuisine.
If you haven’t been to Sangster’s in Elie before be prepared for a dining experience of a lifetime. Bruce has won more awards for cooking than you could shake a stick at.
That said we are probably not going to talk much on the web site about food, you really must come and try it for yourself but don’t just turn up expecting a seat. If you don’t book in advance you’re very liable to be told there are no seats. So phone for a reservation.
Bruce wins The Chef of the Year Award at the annual CIS awards held in the Hilton Glasgow 28 May 2009.
One of only four in Scotland awarded at this time, January 2009. The Michelin Guide, which covers hotels and restaurants, is considered the “Bible” of good eating. Restaurants being considered for inclusion can be visited up to a dozen times in secret by inspectors to ensure they offer a consistent level of quality and service.
Bruce was one of the five demonstrating chefs at the Scottish Chefs Conference (2009), held in Glasgow.

Calm, homely and very comfortable. Being a world class Chef your master chef has considered everything from table size and seat comfort (very important when enjoying a gastronomic extravaganza) to space, decor and tableware.
Sangster’s is a dining experience, so don’t expect to see a kids menu, chicken nuggets or burgers and if you want vegetarian be sure to let chef know when you reserve your table or you will be very disappointed. Bruce can cater for everybody including any special diets but he needs to know your requirement well in advance to cater for your specific need.
Being such a great chef means a lot of people want to book at the popular times of the year and as the restaurant only has a finite number of seats inevitably those who don’t book in time are disappointed.
Oh and don’t be late! Chef is cooking specifically for your party so timing is vital. If you book for 7.00 for dinner at 7.30 chef expects you to be sitting at the table by 7.30 ready to begin. Lastly if you must cancel please do so at the first available opportunity so that some other party may enjoy a pleasant evening with Bruce and Jackie at Sangster’s Restaurant.
